ABOUT

My work is inspired by my identity through my family and personal experiences. I make art to express who I am, find my identity through visual means and to portray my experience of the world. my Experiences are influenced by people close to me like my grandparents, father, mother and other family members. In my artwork I look at raw natural materials differently then others see them. I do not like to look at things simply how they are, but for what they could become. The concept of pushing boundaries or straying from the familiar can be seen in the way that I live my own life. I am always trying to see things differently, learn new things, get involved as much as I can and also go outside of my comfort zone.

In art I am never satisfied, I feel that my art is a part of my identity and has many facets just as I do as a person. I want to do new things expanding my repertoire, in this mindset it makes sense that I aim to push any medium as far as it can go. I am pushing traditional perceptions of art materials just as I push people's perceptions of myself.
